Top 7 Rookies for 2022

This past season, all four AFC North teams had above solid drafts, for what they were given. There were multiple first round talents drafted just among the division, but who are the top 7 rookies for the 2022 season?

1. George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers

It didn’t take long for George Pickens hype to grow large. Although he’s sharing the field with three other key contributor targets, the 52nd pick became a camp star quickly along with becoming Mitch Tribusky’s favorite target, who is projected to start for the team at the beginning of the season.

2. Tyler Linderbaum, Baltimore Ravens

Tyler Linderbaum may have slipped just a little further in the first round than some may have expected, but on the same hand, the Iowa alumni was considered a “generational” prospect at the center position by some. If he can stay healthy, I believe Linderbaum can have a similar season to Creed Humphrey’s rookie season.

3. Kyle Hamilton, Baltimore Ravens

Kyle Hamilton just happens to be another early first round talent player drafted by Baltimore. As much as the term, “generational talent” gets thrown around, Hamilton received a lot of generational talent hype, and to be quite honest, I don’t disagree.

4. Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers shocked just about everyone with their 2022 first round selection when they went with Kenny Pickett, instead of Malik Willis, who the team showed MAJOR interest in. That’s in the past now, and although Pickett had a bumpy start to the training camp process, he has seemed to get more comfortable with the team and improve. Even with Mitch projected to start, I believe Pickett will start sooner than some people think.

5. Daxton Hill, Cincinnati Bengals

Daxton Hill was one of my favorite prospects pre-draft process, and now that he landed in Cincinnati, I really like the fit. He’s just a very diverse DB. The late first round pick has turned a lot of heads since training camp and adjusted fairly well to the new stage. Whether the team lines him up in the slot or up top, I believe Daxton will be there making plays.

6. Travis Jones, Baltimore Ravens

Travis Jones was another Baltimore Raven that slipped further than people thought, but the third round pick hasn’t disappointed yet. Turned heads in training camp, received praise from players, and performed well in the first pre-season game. Jones has potential to be an absolute monster up the middle in Baltimore for years to come.

7. David Bell, Cleveland Browns

David Bell, like most of the players on the list, turned heads during training camp. Multiple reports said the third round pick had very consistent hands, hardly dropping passes. Although Bell faced an early injury during camp, the team isn’t rushing him back, so once he’s 100% healthy, David Bell can be a potential immediate impact player at wide receiver.
