AFC North Players to Keep an Eye on!

The AFC North is full of young talented players from all four teams. That may be whether that specific player has proven themselves already, or maybe possibly still has a lot to showcase. Today we are going through those young AFC North players to be on the lookout for this upcoming season.

Although Bengals DE, Joseph Ossai is yet to play a regular season snap for the team after suffering a season-ending meniscus injury in the 2021 preseason, I believe the 3rd round Sophomore is poised for a breakout season. The former Texas Longhorn led the Big 12 in Tackles for loss in 2020 and landed top 8 in sacks. With a hopeful healthy start, and a stacked D-line, can Ossai pull it off?

Rashod Bateman is another 2021 draftee that was limited to playing time due to injury. Although the Baltimore Ravens Wide Receiver didn’t miss the entire season, he only started 4 games, and played in 12 via pro football reference. With the former first round pick now lining up as WR1, and a healthy Lamar Jackson back in the fold, I’ll be the one to say he eclipses 1,000 yards which will be the third Wide receiver drafted by the team to do so.

Steelers second round Sophomore tight end, Pat Freiermuth may come to a little surprise on this list as he was very successful in the end zone his rookie season with 7 touchdowns, which led the league amongst rookies at his position. While that being true, Pat had an underwhelming 8.3 yard average per reception on 60 catches. With an upgraded QB room for the 2022 season, and more specifically, QBs who have made a living throwing over the middle of the field, I have full confidence we will see a way more efficient Pat Freiermuth.

Browns safety Grant Delpit isn’t apart of the 2021 draft like the previous players on this list, but with early injuries and obstacles in the way for the first half of his NFL career, the former two-time consensus All-American and winner of the Jim Thorpe Award is honestly set to bloom this season.
