Recently, there have been reports that the Steelers have begun preliminary talks with the Saints about acquiring star receiver Chris Olave. The loss of Pickens has gotten the Steelers fan base rowdy and looking for another receiver to add to the roster, but trading for Olave right now is a terrible idea. The Saints are reportedly asking for nothing less than a 2nd round pick in next year’s draft and a pick swap for the former first-round pick.

The Steelers just recently traded George Pickens for a 3rd round pick and a pick swap. This wouldn’t make sense in any way, considering the Steelers traded away an excellent young player only to get another young star for more than they gave away. My message to the fans: We all need to relax and trust the process. The Steelers have tons of young talent that can make a big difference this year, like Calvin Austin III, who I expect to have a major role in this year’s offense, and Roman Wilson, a 2024 3rd-round pick who was hurt the entire season. The Steelers are going to have to depend on the young talent they’ve invested in stepping up, spending even more capital is not the answer.
